Job Title: GCP Consultant Location: Melbourne/Remote Type: Contractor
Duration: 6 months+
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Consultant with experience in VMware technologies and/or Google Cloud VMware Engine (GCVE) to support a cloud migration and infrastructure modernization project. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in designing, deploying, and managing GCVE environments and a solid background in VMware technologies and cloud networking.
Key Responsibilities:
· As part of a team assess, design, and implement of Google Cloud VMware Engine (GCVE) solutions.
· Collaborate with cloud architects, infrastructure teams, and security engineers to deliver high-quality GCP solutions.
· Plan and execute VMware-to-GCVE migrations, including workload assessments, sizing, and migration strategy.
· Integrate GCVE with native GCP services such as the cloud operations suite, IAM, and networking components.
· Provide best practices and guidance on hybrid cloud configurations, disaster recovery, backup, and operational monitoring.
· Troubleshoot issues related to GCVE environments, network connectivity, and performance optimization.
· Ensure compliance with security policies and organizational standards.
· Prepare documentation, architecture diagrams, and runbooks for the deployed environments.
· Train client teams on GCVE management and operations as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
· 2+ years of experience in cloud consulting or cloud infrastructure roles involving GCP.
· Hands-on experience with Google Cloud VMware Engine is a plus
· Knowledge of VMware vSphere, vCenter, vSAN, NSX-T, HCX and related tools.
· Experience with cloud networking (VPCs, VPNs, interconnects, firewalls)
· Strong scripting or automation skills (Terraform, Python) is a plus.
· Experience with infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD practices.
· Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience in multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments.
· GCP certifications (e.g., Professional Cloud Architect or equivalent)
